The SD-WAN market is on a roll – it’s expected to grow at a compound annual rate of nearly 33% through 2023! There are many reasons for this, including increased security, redundancy, and continuity. It is also possible to save money. While many market players sell their solutions, a few players are looking to stand out by offering multiple solutions.
We spoke with Ben Niernberg, Senior Vice President at MNJ Technology. After proving in numerous companies, such as Canon Business Solutions, he joined the company.
17 years ago. The Chicago-based MNJ began as a VAR for ex-CDW employees and then purchased a Cisco MSP/CLEC.
We broke the news three years ago about the company’s collaboration with Silver Peak.
Marcus McEwen (MNJ Technologies’ executive vice-president of services at that time), stated, “The MNJ/Silver Peak Partnership extends the power and SD-WAN into MNJ Cloud Access Network,” “We will be able to integrate low-cost DIA connections and SLA-backed MPLS service so clients can cost-effectively use all available bandwidth without sacrificing quality. Silver Peak SD-WAN, in conjunction with the MNJ network, creates reliable, cost-effective connectivity for our clients.”
He explained that they then began to concentrate on SD-WAN in order to “rightsize broadband”.
They were able to provide SD-WAN solutions for other companies, including Talari and Oracle, from that point onwards.
They offer a 24×7 NOC that is English-speaking… They have global customers, but they also sell nationally.
When we asked him about competition, he replied that they compete with AT&T as well as Verizon – VeloCloud or Versa Networks.
He exclaimed, “There will be $16 million in MPLS erosion within the next three years.” “Carriers are pivoting…Not dead.”
When we asked him how they differentiate, he said that they ask customers to rate their experience with large carriers. Then they make it personal. “What’s it like to be on hold when the circuit is down?”
They emphasize their role as an agnostic provider and advise clients on the best way to satisfy their needs, such as a typical company, call center, or healthcare.
MNJ also handles procurement and management.
He exclaimed, “It is all about the customer experience.” SD-WAN allows customers control over the WAN. This allows them to be more efficient in how they move data and creates a better customer experience.
He said, “SD-WAN is not plug and play.”
