About the Client

On June 18, 2025, a Wisconsin County Government serving approximately 280 employees experienced a major infrastructure failure after a third-floor water main break flooded the county’s main building. The water infiltrated environmental systems and the server room, damaging critical equipment—including switches, power units, and Dell VxRail server/storage systems—resulting in widespread system outages. 

Challenges

The extensive water damage required an immediate and comprehensive recovery effort. Multiple network component failures left the county without operational infrastructure and in urgent need of restoration to prevent prolonged disruption. 

Pre-incident environment included: 

        • Cisco switches 
        • Meraki access points 
        • Dell switches 
        • Dell VxRail Server/SAN 

MNJ's Solutions

MNJ had recently met with the customer and expressed interest in future collaboration. When the emergency occurred—on Juneteenth, when many vendors were closed—the county’s previous IT partner was unresponsive. 

Upon being contacted, MNJ immediately mobilized a rapid-response team. Our representatives assessed the damage, prioritized recovery, and coordinated with MNJ architects and vendor partners to source replacement equipment without delay. 

MNJ’s recovery solution included:

        • Matching or upgrading Cisco networking equipment 
        • Replacing APC power units 
        • Sourcing equal or improved Dell hardware 
        • Coordinating installation and service with Cisco and Meraki teams 

Integration & Deployment

MNJ worked closely with vendors to ensure proper installation, configuration, and validation. Our team participated in all coordination calls, provided ongoing technical assistance, and ensured project completion met the highest standards.

His command of best practices comes from his 14+ years of experience as a leader within the Fortune 19 company – Marathon Petroleum Corporation.

Matt is a Management Information Systems (MIS) graduate from Kent State University. Matt is all about family and invests his free time into them while enjoying coaching and Disney World adventures. Matt is also an avid Cleveland Browns fan.
