IT solutions provider MNJ Technology officially launched Tuesday a new business unit called Ignyte to help clients with digital transformation.
Ignyte was created as a separate business unit after many clients had already tried digital transformation through traditional solution providers without success, stated Ben Niernberg, chief operating officer at MNJ, Buffalo Grove, Ill.
Niernberg stated that customers need to “digitally transform.” Niernberg said that digital transformation sales cycles and talent are different from traditional solutions providers. We need to change our processes, and we are creating a separate business unit.
Ignyte has its own sales team, pre-sales engineers, and product marketing personnel, totaling approximately 45 employees. Niernberg, the new business unit head, stated that the unit shares some accounting and IT resources with the rest.
Niernberg stated that MNJ has invested multiple seven-figures in Ignyte’s hardware, software, and marketing resources.
He said, “But this is something that the midmarket demands.” Digital transformation has not been well received by the midmarket, and these clients are searching for someone who can aggregate solutions. We can cut down on the time it takes to complete this task by investing in talent and other services.
MNJ ranked at No. Niernberg stated that MNJ, ranked No. 128 on’s 2021 Solution Provider 500 or’s 2021 Managed Services Provider 500 is the right place for such a digital transformation.
He said, “There are not many solution providers with a revenue of more than $200 million.” “We are small enough to be agile and large enough that we have the right resources. This is a huge undertaking. This will require us to develop two business plans and look at ways to wrap our services around them. We need to find a way into this business.
Niernberg stated that traditional solution providers often fail to realize they can digitally transform their businesses in the same way they did other areas of their business.
He said, “But it doesn’t work.” You need to build a team rooted in the correct processes and methodologies. Everyone in MNJ is focused primarily on recurring revenues.
Niernberg stated that digital transformation is still possible.
He said, “IT is being asked by companies to solve big problems, and this will make them more profitable and increase the top line.” It’s something that we have never seen before. IT is being asked to perform so many tasks in this area using things like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and voice integration in the cloud. Companies will need to find 20 providers if they want to do it independently and take 12 months. Imagine the impact if they could reduce that time to just four months. This is the essence of Ignyte.
Niernberg stated that the business environment is favorable for Ignyte initiatives.
